Lead .NET Software Engineer / Technical Team Leader .NET - Sydney

The company is seeking a hands-on lead .NET software engineer with the skills and commitment to help them to further innovate and grow their .NET applications. The role will be responsible for the management of a newly established .NET software engineering team. This .NET team will deliver solutions in collaboration with a geographically dispersed team of Microsoft .NET software engineers.

Job Requirements:

• Manage a team of 5 .NET software engineers to design, develop, enhance, and maintain current and new.NET applications and web services
• Serve as technical lead on development projects; participation in full software development lifecycle including requirements analysis and design, working closely with technical, design, and product teams
• Perform resource and timeline estimation for new .NET projects
• Responsibility for developing .NET solutions for all tiers of the application; code-behinds, controls, middle-tier business components, database layer, etc.
• Develop technical .NET programs and processes to improve the efficiency and quality of their development projects
• Investigate and analyse reported defects in a timely manner, and recommend solutions to these problems including code changes, data updates, or configuration modifications
  Lead technical .NET design and code reviews
• Identify and lead re-factoring efforts
• Assist in formulating standards and .NET development practices across multiple related teams
• Conduct and assist in unit and integration testing
• Mentor team members

Required Skills:

• Minimum of 2 years recent experience of managing a team of software engineers
• Minimum of 5 to 8 years (Commercial) .NET software development experience
• At least 3 years of recent hands-on experience developing web-based applications using the .NET framework
• Excellent knowledge of C#, ASP.NET, ADO.NET, XML, web services, data structures and collections, caching, configuration
• Permanent Resident
• At least 6 years of local experience
• Highly comfortable with direct communication with all levels of technical and business resources
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Preferred Skills:

• BA/BS degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field. A technical degree with a minor/concentration in computer science is also acceptable
• History of delivering projects to production, including dynamic, personalised, database-driven, large-scale, high-volume commercial web sites
• Understanding of the .NET web application development process, including compilation/building, coding standards, and source control
• Good fundamental and hands-on knowledge of with MS SQL Server
• Knowledge in OO development principles, multi-tier web application design and relational database principles
• Ability to design and develop .NET software in a group or independently
• Understanding of multiple SDLC concepts, including waterfall and agile
• Ability to handle several .NET projects simultaneously
• Experience working with technical, design, and product teams
• Experience in learning new .NET technologies quickly
